A series of talks and tours will take place throughout the exhibition, delivered by experts in the field of Egyptology which will give visitors the chance to delve a little deeper in to this fascinating subject.

A guided tour of the exhibition with Dr Lidija McKnight of the Manchester Museum, whose work and has informed this intriguing exhibition.

Talk by Lee Robert McStein (Monument Men)

An introduction to the fascinating subject of Travellers Graffiti in Egypt. Find out why this historic graffiti is important and what it can tell us about travellers including Thomas Legh himself and his interpreter Henry James Curtin. Visitors attending this talk will also be able to handle 3D printed examples of travellers graffiti, and the presentation will include a sneak peek of a very special 'work in progress' project coming soon to Lyme.

 

'Animal Mummies - the inside and outside story­'

Talk by Dr Lidija McKnight (Ancient Egyptian Animal Bio Bank) and Lee Robert McStein (Monument Men)

A look inside at an exciting pilot project examining the animal mummies currently on display at Lyme, which blends CT imaging with 3D scans using photographs and 3D printing. Visitors attending this talk will also have the first public opportunity to handle a 3D print of a never seen before animal mummy!

Talks and tours take place in the house. They are free unless a price is specified, attendees will require a house ticket. NT members free. For details on ticket prices please cleack here.
