Catering for all at Lyme
Here at Lyme we will always endeavour to cater for everyone's taste buds and needs and we are proud to have been awarded the Bronze Food for Life Served Here Award. This award recognises the National Trust's commitment to serving local, fresh and honest food made using ethical and sustainable ingredients. So what does that mean for our foodies out there?
- Menus are designed to make the best use of seasonal ingredients
- Our food and drinks contain more of the good stuff - free from undesirable additives, colouring and sweeteners
- Our eggs are always free range - the hens have access to the outdoors and can exhibit natural behaviour
- Food for Life menus are free from endangered fish as recognised by the Marine Conservation Society's 'fish to avoid list.'
A sustainable brew
All our cups of tea at Lyme are made with fully recyclable tea bags from Clipper Teas, which are produced without chemicals and pesticides that harm bees and other insects. Our takeaway cups are also fully home-compostable, so you can pop them in your compost heap or garden at home to rot down. Why not use them as seed planters?
Catering for all
Here's a lovely quote from our resident vegan on food at Lyme:
'As Lyme’s resident vegan I like nothing more than popping down to the Timberyard Café mid morning for a home-made flapjack and a soya milk latte. My favourite lunch is the spicy bean chilli one pot when it’s available but I can also recommend a jacket potato with beans and mixed leaves – just make sure to ask for dairy free butter and no coleslaw! The menu is part of the National Trust Cookbook, which means that it changes seasonally and so the summer menu will be available from June (I will update you then on what my new favourite treats are as soon as I have got down there to sample them! )
The catering team are really keen to try and accommodate your needs so please do ask. If it’s beautiful weather then they are sure to be busy so maybe you could give them a call or an email before your visit to have a chat.'
