The garden and woods are perfect for some autumn inspired fun. With colourful trees and lots of autumn leaves there is something to keep everyone entertained this half-term.
Shades of autumn trail
Take our family trail and follow the fate of leaf as it changes in autumn from green to brown. See how many of our large wooden leaves you can find as you explore the garden. You can also collect some of your own leaves to use for leaf rubbings.
Pick up the trail from our welcome hub from 10.00am to 3.30pm. £1 per trail, normal admission applies.
The simple stick can be used for all kinds of autumn art from frames to natural sculptures. Pick up a small stick and see if you can make your own leaf pattern by threading on colourful leaves from the ground. Find our large stick frames near the log stepping stones and use them to create your own leaf picture.
Autumn is a great time to check off several of your 50 things to do before you're 11 ¾. Try catching a leaf as it falls from a tree or create some natural art from treasures you collect from the ground. If it's a wet day then you can have fun splashing in puddles or collecting rain drops. For more ideas collect your scrapbook and stickers from our welcome hub.
