Enjoy a taste of Sizergh this winter

A family enjoying scones and coffee on the veranda

In the shadow of Sizergh Castle, our contemporary café is open seven days a week from 10am. With fresh, seasonal produce grown in the garden used in our food it’s easy to enjoy a taste of Sizergh when you visit us. Whether you’re planning to join us for lunch or it’s a pit stop before exploring the gardens and estate, every purchase you make helps us look after this special place.

What’s cooking?

Our dishes feature locally sourced ingredients including vegetables collected from our garden and the sweet treats are baked fresh by our chefs in the Sizergh café kitchen. Our menu varies from day to day; below is an example of what’s cooking this winter.

Quench your thirst

Our café offers a variety of warming teas, coffees and cold refreshments. Our new water station makes it even easier to quench your thirst or to refill your water bottle before taking a stroll around the surrounding wildlife trail with views of Morecambe Bay and the Pennines.

Eyes to the sky

Visitors to Sizergh enjoy its historical house, gem-like gardens and the surrounding countryside, but hiding in the treetops at this time of year is another crowd pleaser, the elusive hawfinch. Bring your binoculars and join us bright and early in late February or early March when one of our rangers can help you spot these rare birds. Our café will be open early to serve breakfast to visitors hoping to get a view of these special feathered guests (top tip: if you're eating out on the veranda, you may well spot one in the car park!)

Canine company

Our café welcomes all dogs inside. A water bowl can be found on entrance and will be happily refilled on request.
