Wildflowers on Sizergh Fell

There's always something to see in the countryside here at Sizergh – join a free guided walk to find out what makes it special. Our knowledgeable volunteers will show you some of the best bits; from the fantastic viewpoint at Helsington to the rare flowers and wildlife living on Sizergh Fell.

Sizergh Fell, Mondays at 11am (until 25 October)

You’ll see prehistoric sites at Sizergh Fell and Lane End Farm, while enjoying the buzz of insects and the beautiful colours of the grassland. Make sure to bring a camera to capture the views across Yorkshire, Lancashire and Morecambe Bay. Meeting at Sizergh reception, this walk is 1.5 miles and will take approximately 1.5 hours.

Helsington Church, Mondays at 1:30pm (until 25 October)

Enjoy the walk up to Helsington Church with views across the Lyth Valley to the Lakeland fells. On the way you'll pass through orchards, farmsteads, ancient woodlands and historic deer parks, which have provided the backdrop to Sizergh for centuries. Meeting at Sizergh reception, this walk is 1.5 miles and will take approximately 1.5 hours.

What to bring

Walkers should wear stout footwear and suitable clothing (waterproofs are always recommended!). The walks are free, but please remember our car park is pay and display (if you're a National Trust member, please scan your membership card at the machine for a free ticket). Any donations towards the upkeep of the estate would be greatly appreciated.
