October half-term holiday fun at Standen
Keep the kids occupied this half term with the autumn children's trail in the garden, woodland adventures through crunchy leaves and tasty treats in Barn café. Open daily.
October half term: Hettie's Sense of Adventure.
Sat 23rd to Sun 31st October, 10am – 3pm
Grab those wellies and woolly hats and set off on our family trail this October half term. Follow Hettie the Hedgehog as she sets off on a quest to explore autumn. You'll use all your senses to connect with nature, and find out more about hedgehogs too, one of our most popular garden visitors.
£3 per trail with a small prize to collect at the end.
Pumpkin Rescue trail
Fri 1 Oct -Sun 14 Nov, 10am - 3pm
Follow the clues around the Kitchen Garden to discover how you can make more than just a scary face out of your pumpkin.
Getting out and about
Enjoy the fresh air and take a stroll through the garden or head out through crunchy leaves into the surrounding woodland where you'll find an array of autumn colour. Within the wider estate there's plenty of opportunity to run around and tick off some of your 50 things to do before you’re 11 ¾.
Don't forget, if the weather's not on your side, Barn Café is open all week for tasty treats and hot chocolates to indulge in. You can sit inside or enjoy some autumnal sunshine in the cafe courtyard. Why not try a generous slice of our delicious Sussex Apple Cake?
Autumn is a great time to explore the garden and woodlands at Standen. Take in the view over the Sussex Weald from the Rock Top Walk or wander through the woods and crunch the leaves. Free (normal admission applies). Download a trail from our walks page.
