October half-term holiday fun at Standen
Keep the kids occupied this half term with apple tastings, autumn trails, and strolls through crunchy leaves. Open daily from Saturday 21 October to Sunday 29 October.
This October half-term escape to Standen for some autumn fun. We have trails inspired by the food harvested from Mrs Beale's kitchen garden and for those feeling creative, take part in harvest crafts.
If you'd rather enjoy the fresh air you can take a stroll through our gardens or head out through crunchy leaves into the surrounding woodland and even tick off some of your 50 things to do before you’re 11 ¾. And don't forget that if the weather's not on your side, Barn Café is open all week for tasty treats.
October half-term trail
Join us for a fun trail over half-term inspired by the harvest produce of Mrs Beale's Kitchen garden. There's even a prize at the end. £2 per child with prize.
Mrs Beale was proud of her kitchen garden which took up over a third of the garden. Fruit and vegetables from the garden were used not only in the house but also sent to relatives in London and beyond.
During October we will be celbrating the produce harvested from the Kitchen garden with tastings, demonstrations and sharing seasonal recipes for you to try at home.
Autumn is a great time to explore the garden and woodlands at Standen. Take in the view over the Sussex Weald from the new Rock Top Walk or wander through the woods and crunch the leaves. Free (normal admission applies). Download a trail from our walks page or pick up a 50p walk leaflet from visitor reception.
Garden, cafe and shop open daily from 10am-5pm. House open 11am-4.30pm (last entry 4pm).
