This spring, see the colourful spectacle of 10,000 blooming tulips as they carpet the terraces and borders at Standen. There's plenty to do including workshops and tours with our Senior Gardener. There will also be tulip themed gifts in the shop, and tulip treats in the café. From mid-April until mid-May 2018.
Tulips are the stars of spring. A riot of colour swathes around the house in both the border and pot displays. Look out for the many heritage varieties which were around when Standen was a family home and include the rich coffee-coloured Dom Pedro (1911), the delicious lilac mauve of Bleu Aimable (1916), and the double blooms of both the pure white Mount Tacoma (1924) and saturated deep purple of Black Parrot (1937).
