Christmas at Standen

Christmas wreaths

Feel like a guest of the Beale family at Standen this Christmas. With a festive trail around the garden and the Winter Tree of Hope there’s plenty for all the family to see. Pre-booking is essential every day from Sat 5 Dec.

As West Sussex has now entered Tier 4 we have had to close the house.  However, there is still plenty to be enjoyed at Standen so we would like to take this opportunity to give our visitors a warm welcome.  Here are some of the things you can still enjoy during your visit.

The Winter Tree of Hope

Thu 3 Dec – Sun 3 Jan, 10am-4pm

As part of Standen’s Christmas celebrations, see the decorated tree in the courtyard by our community of lockdown crafters, alongside 1930s traditionally decorated Christmas trees throughout the house.

2020 has undoubtedly been a challenging year, with many of us spending several months in lockdown. The Standen team wanted to create a Winter Tree, filled with hand crafted decorations from the community that spread hope, love and joy. Decorations have poured in from across the nation, this is your chance to come and see it in all its beautiful hand-crafted glory.

Normal admission applies. Pre-booking is essential for specific dates, including every day from Sat 5 Dec, weekends and twilight evenings.

This Christmas our younger visitors can delve into the garden and experience how the Beale family enjoyed Christmas.
