Just maintaining a site such as Wimpole requires a huge ongoing programme of repairs, painting and conservation, not only the buildings, but railings, pathways, furniture, books, borders and farm buildings.
Painting the window frames
The north front of the Hall overlooking the parterre had its wood framed windows rubbed down, repaired and painted in 2017 and the South front was completed in 2018, this will weatherproof it for another few years.
Railings around the mansion
We have been repairing and renovating some of the garden railings around the mansion and garden, you might see the work being completed on small sections at a time.

Book cleaning
We have a team of trained volunteers who dust and clean some of our book collection which is an ongoing conservation task which you can sometimes see in the Book Room or Red Room.
