BBC Gardeners' World at Bodnant
Carol Klein and the BBC Gardeners' World team visited Bodnant in search of winter wow factor - and found it in spades.
We were thrilled to welcome the crew to our Winter Garden, where they filmed an episode for the new 2018 series.
Carol (who was awarded the Royal Horticultural Society Medal of Honour in the same week) toured the garden looking at the plant combinations which make this special garden area, now five years old, such a seasonal highlight.
The finished programme was stunning, capturing the Winter Garden glowing with late season colour. Carol said: "Thanks for your beautiful garden and for all the love, hard work, care and skill that you all lavish on it. It was a privilege for Gardeners' World to film there."
Presenter Monty Don added: "One of the measures of a garden is how good its looks in winter, and Bodnant certainly looks good."
Our Winter Garden opened to the public in New Year 2013. Formerly an Edwardian rockery which had become overgrown, it was transformed in a two-year renovation project.
The Gardeners' World programme aired on March 16th but you can catch it on BBC iPlayer here: https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b09w8m51 It's well worth a watch - maybe it will inspire you with ideas for your own winter garden for next year!
