Christmas at Bodnant Garden
Christmas is a magical time at Bodnant Garden. Enjoy walks in a frost-sparkling landscape, bring the children to meet the elves, discover traditional gifts at the shop and hearty, festive fare in our tearooms.
Bodnant Garden is open all year-round (apart from Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and Boxing Day) and this 2019 festive season it’s the perfect place to escape the high street for some traditional family together-time.
The star on our tree is the Elves’ Workshop. Drop in at the marquee in the Dell and enjoy making Christmas crafts with our merry band of Bodnant elves. Join us on Saturdays and Sundays: November 30 and December 1, December 7 and 8, December 14 and 15, December 21 and 22, from 11am to 2.30pm. This activity is free and there's no booking required (normal garden admission applies) though sessions are popular so we advise getting to the garden early.
The whole family can warm up with our special festive food menu at the Dell kiosk and enjoy marshmallow toasting around the brazier.
The fun starts at our Welcome Centre when you arrive. Pick up a Magic Penny to start your visit and follow the long Robin’s Secret Trail or short, step-free Lantern Trail to the Dell. These trails are free and self led, and will be on daily throughout the Christmas holidays.
Christmas and winter events at Bodnant Garden:
- Santa’s Grotto: After visiting the elves why not pop along to our neighbours at Bodnant Garden Centre and see Santa, from 11am – 2pm on the December weekends leading up to Christmas.
Winter Birds Walk: Join a bird watching expert for a guided tour of the garden spotting winter birdlife, on 6 December from 11am-12.30. This event is free (normal garden admission applies) but call 01492 650460 to book your place.
The National Trust Gift shop and Bodnant Garden Centre offer a huge range of Christmas ideas, from cards, decorations and gifts to plants, and of course Christmas trees and wreaths. What’s more there’s a unique collection of local arts and crafts products at Bodnant Craft Centre, from jewellery, paintings, ceramics and furniture.
And of course there’s our famous garden to explore; soak up 80 beautiful acres including the seasonal highlights of the special Winter Garden. You can bring your dogs every day from October until the end of March too - a Happy Christmas holidays for all the family.
