Winter holiday time for the family at Bodnant Garden

A path winds through colourful trees, shrubs and grasses in the Winter Garden at Bodnant

What better place than Bodnant Garden for a refreshing winter walk to kick-start your New Year?

After the hustle and bustle of Christmas time (and maybe, just maybe, a little too much turkey?) Bodnant Garden is the perfect place for envigorating winter walks in the crisp sunshine. There's a route to suit all the family.

Take a stroll through the Winter Garden, with its brilliant colours, textures, scents shapes; look out for the first snowdrops in the Old Park meadow and early dwarf daffodils popping up their heads in The Dell; enjoy the splendour of bare trees against frosty blue skies in The Glades, wintry reflections on the lake in the Far End and panoramic views of snow-capped mountains from The Terraces.

Youngsters will enjoy followng the Robin's Secret Trail from the Welcome Centre down to the old mill in the Dell. This is a free and self led family trail (normal garden admission applies). Look out for the coloured ribbons to show the way...

What’s more, in winter you can bring your four-legged friends with you. Dogs are welcome all day, every day until the end of March when we switch to #WagWedneday evening walkies.

Some paths may be closed off if icy or slippery, but we hope that whether you want a brisk breath of fresh air or a leisurely stroll, you’ll find peace and inspiration among our 80 acres.
