A magical Tudor Christmas at Corfe Castle
See the past in a new light at Corfe Castle this Christmas.
Join the Lord of Misrule for a flavour of Christmas in Tudor times in a castle made magical by contemporary lighting, lanterns, beacons and braziers.
Share your special memory or wish on one of our six Christmas Wish trees on the gatehouse bridge.
Step through the gate into a castle adorned with a 23ft Christmas tree and Tudor themed decorations.
On selected dates we’ll opening until 7pm (weather permitting) for the chance to see the illuminations at their best in the company of our Tudor storytellers.
Experience the revels of an Elizabethan Christmas with storytelling – you can even join in if you like.
Tudor Christmas and Winter Lights are free events but normal admission prices apply – free to National Trust members.

A taste of Tudor time
Join us on Friday 15 and Saturday 16 December for a Tudor Christmas feast beside the roaring log fire in our tea-rooms featuring authentic period recipes accompanied by mulled wine and mead.
- Soup of seasonal vegetable served with artisan bread
- Beef in a pastry bowl, Tudor cheese tart (gluten free option available) Chicken thigh & breast in a cream, herb & white wine sauce with caramelised peaches (Quorn substitute available). Served with carrots, parsnips & leeks with garlic.
- Vanilla cheesecake with spices and sugared flowers & berries, red wine poached pears with cream and jumbles (delicious Tudor biscuits) & hot chocolate.
