Guy Busher Volunteer Profile
What inspired me to want to start volunteering with the National Trust?
I wanted to be part of a charity that cared about issues that were important to me, but perhaps more importantly wanted to be able to be actively involved with people and in an area where I could offer my existing skills but develop new and interesting ones.
What's the best part of Volunteering at Croome?
Undoubtedly the people who work and volunteer here. But it is a truly beautiful and peaceful place.
What’s keeping me busy at the moment?
Working in an admin environment and developing skills that I didn't have before. Reception is just fun with lots of visitors and a great reception team who are very supportive and friendly.
What's my favourite part of Croome?
Difficult question but I think the park on a still sunny autumn morning .
What's my favourite story about Croome?
The fact that the 6th Earls second wife ( Barbara st George) fell in love with the place and made it her true home .
What do I do when I’m not volunteering?
Volunteer for another charity on a more occasional basis. Have free time to visit my children as I need to.
What advice would I give anyone thinking about volunteering with the National Trust?
Go and do it. It's interesting, fun and very therapeutic!
