Dogs at Dunham Massey

Enjoy some fantastic walks with your four-legged friend at Dunham Massey. We've over 300 acres of beautiful ancient parkland to explore and stretch your legs.

Bring your dog along to the deer park where they are welcome on a short lead (this is to protect our wildlife including ground-nesting birds, rabbits, and herd of fallow deer). Dogs are also allowed in the gardens on a short lead.

If you'd like to walk your dog off the lead you can head to North Park - ask for directions on arrival.

A refreshing drink

Our Ice Cream Parlour is dog friendly, so why not pop in and refresh yourself with a drink before exploring the rest of the park with your four-legged friend. The Ice Cream Parlour is open every weekend and daily during school holidays.

Whilst dogs can't come into the restaurant, or café, they can sit outside and enjoy the views from the terrace. We offer dog water bowls on the terrace and by the clock tower near the park – perfect after a challenging walk.

Lending a paw

Andrew Wyllie is the Lead Ranger at Dunham and he's often joined at work by his dog Bramble. In many National Trust properties dogs can become a valuable part of the role. At a large site like Dunham, Bramble lends a paw by sniffing out the best walks, testing the temperature of the ponds, and of course, keeping the Rangers company.
