Peter Read presents The Brothers Yorke at Erddig
Combine striking architecture and relaxing spaces with live entertainment this summer.
Don’t miss these short performances by award-winning playwright and writer Peter Read this summer.
The Brothers Yorke is a thirty-minute play that tells the story of the last two squires of Erddig, Simon and Philip.
Full of humour and pathos it brings to life two very different brothers who both struggled to rescue a crumbling Erddig as it fell into decline. We meet the bubbling, eccentric Philip and the reticent recluse Simon, who in different ways both helped to save the property for future generations to enjoy.
This is the third play written by Peter Read for Erddig, following on from the highly acclaimed No Place Like Home and Memories of An Unemployed Oyster. The Brothers Yorke is performed by Eric Jones and Peter Read.
Performances will be on the following dates at 1pm and 2:30pm. Normal admission applies.
Sunday 11 July
Saturday 17 July
Sunday 25 July
Peter’s work has been enjoyed by audiences at over forty venues throughout England and Wales. Inspired by Wrexham, Born in Rhosllanerchrugog, Peter brings a local knowledge and passion to his work.
