Have a jolly Easter at Hardwick
In 2016 in we are celebrating the life of Duchess Evelyn, the last lady to live at Hardwick.
Evelyn and her husband Victor, 9th Duke of Devonshire, made Hardwick one of their family homes and hosted many family occasions and celebrations here – it was at Hardwick they chose to spend quality time as a family. Evelyn chose Hardwick as her dowager house in 1930. Evelyn’s grandchildren loved playing hide and seek in the gardens and having adventures in the wider park. You can have your own adventure at Hardwick this Easter with our Famous Five inspired trail.
Grab a hunt sheet and get cracking on your Cadbury Easter Egg Hunt. You can find the hunts in the Hall, the Gardens and along Lady Spencer’s walk discover all the Famous Five inspired pictures and be inspired to have your own adventures. For each entry there will be a Cadbury chocolate prize.
Throughout the school holidays there will be self-led crafts in both the South Gazebo in the gardens and in the Great Kitchen (on days when the House is open). Crafts will range from doily sheep to paper daffodils and herby sensory playdough.
Come along and get involved.
