Heritage Open Days is England’s largest festival of history and culture offering free access to heritage events and activities across England. Heritage Open Days 2025 takes place between 12 and 21 September, and during that time some National Trust holiday cottages are opened up for a day or more for you to explore and enjoy. This year, discover The Bothy in Powis Castle's gardens, extraordinary Portland House - an Art Deco villa on the Dorset coast, Thorington Hall in Sussex and more.
