Spring in the Lake District

We've a lot to celebrate in 2020. A big birthday for famous poet William Wordsworth and an anniversary of National Trust co-founder Canon Rawnsley. So we open our doors in spring with new exhibitions to celebrate these people - they have inspired us and so many others. The landscape we know and love so well also starts to come alive. Spot carpets of bluebells and wild garlic, spend your days on long lakeshore walks and nature spotting. There's plenty to do with us this spring in the Lake District. Just pop on your adventure shoes.

Coronavirus update

From end of Tuesday 24 March, we closed all our car parks to further restrict the spread of coronavirus. This followed the decision to close our parks and gardens in addition to our houses, shops and cafes. We urge people to stay local and observe social distancing. Please do not travel.
