Get close to nature during May half-term at Dunham Massey with a wide variety of bee related activities. Become a nature detective and discover how Dunham's wonderful bees communicate. Your help is needed to spot as much wildlife as we can in a bumper day of outdoor activities in our Bioblitz. Bee-come a nature detective 

Fancy your hand as a nature detective? Join in with a family friendly wildlife survey and help us find out about all the wonderful bees that make their homes at Dunham Massey with our ‘Great Eight’ spotter trail. Learn how to communicate like a bee with Waggle Dancing and magnetic Hula Hooping, amongst others.

Teddy Bears' Picnic 

If you come down to the garden today you’re sure of a big surprise… Bring along your favourite teddy on June 1 – 2 for an weekend of games, teddy bear fun and music from a brass band. Bring your picnic blanket and enjoy food and drink from the local Dunham estate.

The Beespoon: Monday 3 – Friday 7 June 

Do you know how much honey a bee makes during its lifetime? We will be hosting a special Beespoon installation in the orangery exploring the work it takes for a bee to produce a tiny amount of honey. Families are invited to make origami flowers and place them on the wall to visually show how many flowers a bee needs to visit in order to make the honey.

Bioblitz: Friday 31 May 

It's a race against the clock to count as many different wildlife species as we can, but we need your help! From guided walks to pond dipping and bug hunting, there will be lots of opportunity to get close to nature and learn some new skills.
