Shopping at Dunster Castle and Watermill
The shop at Dunster Castle will be open daily 10am-4pm from Monday 12th April.
Our shop is brimming with beautiful things, so you are sure to find something to tempt you, whether it's a treat for yourself or the perfect gift for a friend.
The Stables Shop
The shop is re-opening on the 12th April, for the safety of staff and visitors we've introduced social distancing measures and prefer to take card payments where possible. It is through your purchases that we are able to continue looking after Dunster Castle for everyone, for ever.
Staying safe in the shop
The safety of staff, volunteers and visitors is our priority, therefore we've introduced social distancing measures including:
- Where necessary, we will limit the flow of people coming into our shop to ensure they don’t get too busy.
- Hand sanitiser is available for customers and colleagues to use, as well as extra cleaning products to wipe baskets.
- We've installed protective screens at till points.
- We've created separate entrances and exits, so that it’s easier to keep a safe distance from other customers.
- Our staff and signs will reinforce these safety measures.
Please bring a face covering
In line with government guidance, you're required to wear a face covering in most enclosed spaces, unless exempt. Please bring one with you.
This shop is located in the atmospheric 17th century stables and filled with original gifts and local products. Brimming with bright and sparkly things, you are sure to find something to tempt you, whether it's a treat for yourself or the perfect gift for a friend.
Top tip: get the most from your visit to Dunster with a souvenir guidebook. With beautiful colour photographs, reconstruction drawings, historical images and tales, it's a great way to remember your visit and to get a glimpse into the areas that are still closed.
Please be aware that Gatehouse Books is closed until further notice.
At the top of the hill from the stables, you'll find the second-hand bookshop, Gatehouse Books, stocking all sorts of well-read classics and non-fiction, children's stories and holiday reads.
If you would like to donate your pre-loved books please contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
We kindly ask that donations are in good condition and regrettably cannot accept readers digest books or magazines.
The working Watermill shop
Please be aware that the Watermill shop is closed until further notice.
It's been proven that you can bake the perfect loaf with some organic Dunster Watermill flour. There's been a mill here since Domesday and we usually mill here every week. If flour doesn’t take your fancy, how about some Dunster Watermill porridge or even a bag of muesli (made to our secret recipe)? The shop also stocks a range of other products, souvenirs and gifts.
