Full steam ahead to 1,000 years of history

Step on board the Dunster Castle Express and arrive in style at Dunster Station. Boarding at Bishops Lydeard the steam engine takes in coastal views as it makes its way to Dunster Station. A special coach connection will take you from the station to Dunster Castle and return you back in time for your departing train.

Your ticket includes the return train journey to and from Dunster station, with the special coach transfer from Dunster station to Dunster Castle and full admission into Dunster Castle and Gardens.

Picnic at the Castle

Freshly prepared picnics can be ordered for you to pick up and enjoy on arrival at Dunster Castle and can be ordered up until the day before you travel.  Vegetarian and Gluten-free options are available. Your picnic will include a round of sandwiches on white, brown or gluten free bread; a piece of fruit, a piece of homemade cake, a packet of crisps, a leek and cheddar flapjack and a bottle of drink.  Sandwich filling options are ham and mustard mayo with salad, egg and watercress and cheese with onion marmalade. The picnics are £10 per person and can be ordered alongside the Dunster Castle Express tickets.  Please note that the option to choose which sandwich filling to order appears at the checkout stage.

These picnics are designed for two people and need to be purchased at the same time as a Dunster Castle Express ticket on the West Somerset Railway website.
