Take a step back in time to meet Elizabeth Bennet, Jane Austen's most loveable heroine. When Elizabeth meets the rude and abrupt Mr Darcy, she loathes him at first sight. But is there more to him than meets the eye? Brought to life by award winning writer Laura Tuner, this brand-new adaptation celebrates the 200th Anniversary of Jane Austen’s death and promises to be the most splendid evening of the summer.

So, join friends and family as you picnic under a beautiful summer sky and lose yourself in this unforgettable love story. After all, it is a truth universally acknowledged, that a single man in possession of a good fortune must be in want of a wife.


The BBQ will be fired up from 5.30pm and will be serving bacon baps, hot dogs and burgers prior to the performance and during the intermission. For those with a sweet tooth there will be lots of sweet treats on offer including ice cream and chocolate bars. Hot and cold drinks will be available throughout the evening.

Important information

The performance will take place outdoors, regardless of the weather and refunds will only be issued if the venue cancels the performance. Please bring suitable clothing and protection from either the sun or rain.

There is a steep slope from the car park to the performance area. If you would prefer not to walk our courtesy vehicle will be available from 5.15 – 6.15pm and 9 – 9.30pm to take you from the car park to the performance area and vice versa at the end of the evening.

You will also need to bring a chair or blanket to sit on. Sorry but we can't allow gazebos or tents to be put up. You'll be able to access the gardens from 5.30pm on the day of the performance. If you have any questions, please call 01643 821314.
