The Weaving Shed Cafe
Enjoy a range of delicious, locally sourced treats from the Weaving Shed cafe this summer, ready to takeaway and enjoy on your visit to Hardcastle Crags. Refuel guilt free knowing every penny you spend in the cafe goes back towards the upkeep of this special place.
What to expect on your visit
The Weaving Shed Cafe is open 7 days a week, 10am - 4pm, serving a range of yummy snacks, refreshing drinks and sweet treats for you to takeaway and enjoy on your visit.
In England, from 19 July, face coverings are not compulsory but we recommend that you wear one in any area on your visit which is enclosed and crowded. We're asking that visitors to the cafe please use card payments only, too.
Everything we serve is packaged ready for you to takeaway and enjoy in the beautiful areas surrounding Gibson Mill.
There are several picnic tables available close to the mill as well as on Lady Royd field, up the hill and opposite the footpath that leads to "The Crags." This is a lovely, peaceful spot which is the perfect place to stop for lunch, enjoying the tranquil woodland surroundings. Please note there is no indoor seating at Hardcastle Crags.
What's on the menu?
If you fancy something savoury, we've got a range of freshly made sandwiches, delicious pasties and crisps for you to enjoy - perfect if you fancy a picnic on your walk.
We'll also be serving up refreshing hot and cold bottled drinks for you to enjoy, with freshly brewed tea and coffee on offer each day.
If you'd like to treat yourself, we've got homemade cakes, a range of delicious traybakes and traditional scones to enjoy too, packaged up ready to enjoy with yummy jam and cream.
On selected days, we'll also be serving warming soups and one pot dishes - perfect for enjoying after a crisp autumn walk.
Your four-legged friends are welcome on a visit to the cafe, too. We ask that dogs are kept on leads in the cafe and around Gibson Mill.
If they're feeling thirsty after a walk in the woodland, we have water bowls in the yard at Gibson Mill.
Plants not plastic
The takeaway packaging you will get your food and drink in are made from a plant based material - not plastic. This makes them fully compostable after they've been used and in turn, this will help future crops grow.
