Volunteering at Hardcastle Crags

If you've visited Hardcastle Crags before, you'll know it's a really special place - whatever the season. With tumbling streams, ragged rocks and towering trees, this wooded valley is steeped in history. It's also a really important home for a variety of wildlife, as well as one of the National Trust's off grid properties.

We couldn't do what we do at Hardcastle Crags without our team of amazing volunteers. Our volunteers work alongside National Trust staff in a variety of roles, from welcoming visitors to supporting our rangers.

Whether you're looking to follow your passions, share your skills or find a new interest, Hardcastle Crags is a great place to get started with your volunteering journey.

To help us open safely, all volunteers receive extra training and induction in line with current government guidance.
