New year, new opportunities
Would you like to join our cast of thousands, bringing Hardwick to life for visitors in 2018?
If you like being with people, love variety and want to keep busy, Hardwick could be the place for you.
Do you think you would enjoy being a part of the National Trust and sharing stories of Hardwick with our thousands of visitors of all ages?
We are looking for more people-friendly volunteers to join our fantastic existing team who can provide a warm and friendly service, inspiring visitors and helping them to make the most of their day.
You'll need to be able to use your own initiative and be adaptable, able to respond to different circumstances and enthusiastic about throwing yourself into new ideas and themes.
New opportunities at Hardwick include programming volunteering, where you'll be making a visitor's day and helping to run a wide range of inspiring and engaging activities for all ages. We are also looking for more room guides to bring the insides of the hall to life for all of our visitors. And these are just an example of the roles available- you'll find more on the volunteering link below, by typing Hardwick Hall into the opportunities search box.
What our volunteers say
Geoff works in the garden and shares his passion for vegetable growing with visitors. ‘I like the fellowship and fun I get from volunteering at Hardwick. I also enjoy working with Ricky, the Head Chef, to grow herbs and vegetables for him to use in the restaurant.’
Brenda works within a few volunteers teams at Hardwick; Learning, Room Guiding and Living History. ‘It feels good to be able to share the history and story of Hardwick in various ways. It’s also great to see students enjoying their visit here and sharing their memories with their families when they make a return visit.’
