Autumn on the Blickling Estate

There's nothing quite like experiencing autumn at its best as you explore the Blickling Estate. The dazzling displays of colour are abundant throughout the gardens and parkland, so here are a few ideas to ensure you get the best seasonal views and make the most of autumn at Blickling.

Guided fungi walks
Join expert Mycologist Dr Tony Leech on Thursdays 5 October and 2 November for a two hour walk around the estate, as Tony identifies the fungi along the way. Meet in the main car park at 10am, the route is scooter / buggy friendly and dogs are welcome. There is £6 charge (cash only), payable on the day.
Weekly guided walks are held around the estate, so whether you fancy walking with your dog alongside other walkers, or you want to experience autumn at its best, with one of our rangers, take a look at the guided walks we have coming up...
" The iconic view of Blickling Hall reflected in a calm lake surrounded by trees in all shades of earthy autumn tones is hard to resist, but there are so many great views across the estate you could easily lose days exploring."
Nature spotting

Fascinating fungi
As we gradually move through autumn, fungi is popping up all over the place. See how many different types you can spot.
Natural habitats
The varied habitats encourage a wide range of birds and mammals. You might spot barn owls hunting or groups of tits and finches marauding through the trees, scavenging for morsels of food.
Time to ponder
The colour variations of the leaves are stunning. Why not take some time to watch them blowing in the breeze and take in all the rich colours to remember on colder days.
Autumn festival
We're celebrating our harvest of apple and pumpkins throughout the season, which you've helped us to grow.
You'll be able to see how your support from every cup of tea, to every purchase made, is transforming the walled garden with an amazing display of pumpkins. Help us harvest our fruit and veg or head to the cafe for a taste of Blickling produce with our autumn themed food.
Help yourself to an apple in the second-hand bookshop as you browse for a good read.
The autumn festival will culminate on 19 October as we continue our Indian theme and celebrate Diwali with lit pumpkins in the walled garden.

Why not treat yourself to a dish from our autumn menu?
Whether you fancy a warming plate of sausage and mash or a roasted veg and Binham Blue panini, there's plenty to tantalize your taste buds.
