Half term fun at Blickling Estate

From Friday 19 - Sunday 28 October, discover fun for all the family with a variety of activities across the estate. Enjoy everything from cycle hire in the park and green fingered fun in the walled garden to our contemporary art installation and bookworms in the house.

Garden adventures | Daily

Explore the garden every day of the week and find secret tunnels, squishy trees and much more. There's plenty of fun to be had, from a family game of hide and seek in the yew hedges, to planting seeds in the walled kitchen garden.

Little explorers

Throughout half term you can collect a children's map from visitor reception and head out on an adventure around the colourful garden. The map will show you all the best bits, as well as where to play a game, do a spot of gardening, get in touch with nature and/or take a break.

Amazing autumn

On your map you will also see ten little oak leaf symbols. Find these spots as you make your way around the garden and discover what makes autumn special. Once you've found them all, continue your autumn adventure in the walled garden, where you can decorate your very own pumpkin.

Sow and grow

Join us in the walled kitchen garden and have fun watering flowers and planting tulip bulbs in pots. You can then take your pot home and enjoy watching it grow. You will also find little wheelbarrows and watering cans for gardening fun.

Explore the wider estate

Take part in our family nature trail in the parkland any day of the week. This walk around the wider estate is ideal for older children as it encourages curious minds to solve riddles and complete the puzzle to reveal a mystery word. You can take part on foot or by bike, all you need to do is collect a trail sheet from visitor reception.

Cycle hire | Daily

Cycle hire is open every day from 10am - 2pm and provides a range of cycles with something for everyone. Big or small, why not take the opportunity to venture further afield? All bikes must be returned by 4pm. There are a range of options, check out our cycle hire prices.
