Blickling's hot tips for staying cool this summer

With the warmer weather hopefully continuing, we've come up with a few ways to enjoy this beautiful weather without getting too hot. Take a look at our top tips for staying cool at Blickling Estate...

Enjoy the cool grass

You'll find plenty of garden to explore, so take your pick, grab a deckchair or lie down and enjoy being at one with nature. Once you've picked your spot, then enjoy some quiet time with a book or just experience the sounds and sights of summer. You can always enjoy a visit to one of our shops beforehand and pick up a new read!

Discover secret spaces

There are plenty of shady spots in the garden, perfect for a picnic or just cooling down. We'd highly recommend a vist to the Dell or the secret tunnels, or how about sitting under one of the great trees in the garden. Wherever you fancy, there's plenty of choice.

Visit the house

There's nothing more cooling than a walk around the house on a hot day. Just remember to leave plenty of time, as you may have to queue to enter.

Head out into the estate

With acres and acres of woodland to explore, there's plenty to discover without being in the sun! Whether you fancy bringing your bikes or hiring one from our cycle hub, enjoy the cool breeze as you meander along the woodland pathways. It's a cooling place to spend a few hours when it's hot and sticky. We'd advise that you take plenty of water with you, but you can always re-fuel at Muddy Boots (main car park) or the Bucks Arms pub.

Ice cream treats and hot tea

On arrival at Blickling, you can always stock up on picnic bits at one of our cafés - from sausage rolls and pasties to crisps and cakes, there's plenty to help top your picnic off.

When it all gets too much, treat yourself to an ice cream - you'll find a variety on sale by the exit from the gardens. Alternatively head to The Stables, Muddy Boots or the Bucks pub to revitalise and enjoy a refreshing cup of tea tea or a nice cold beer to cool you down...

and if it's still all too much...
