A proud day for Blickling
Last Friday saw some of Blickling's visitor welcome team take a trip to London to attend the National Membership Awards Winners' Forum at Grosvenor Gardens, hosted by Sue Wilkinson, Sharon Pickford, Ian Oxley and Stewart Brown.
and the winners were... Blickling!
The team picked up two awards... the National Award for Membership Recruitment (Pay for Entry) and a Special Recognition award for Kristen Highe, Welcome & Sales team leader, for her personal contribution.
A brilliant time was had by Jo Bosch (Marketing & Visitor Manager), Sebastian Billing (Membership & Visitor Welcome Manager) and Kristen, who were asked to deliver a presentation on the key to their success alongside the other award winners.
Amongst other things, they cited 'Recruiting for Attitude' and having the right people in the right roles; developing a Membership Strategy plan; sharing best practice with other successful teams; excellent Membership Recruitment training; the Leading for Membership Success development programme; and their emotional connection to Blickling and the organisation as a whole.
They thanked the whole team of staff and volunteers at Blickling, whose contributions make it such a special place for so many visitors and supporters and has helped the welcome team to recruit record numbers of new members.
After the ceremony, the team retired for a celebratory tipple at a nearby hotel with Frankie Leach, Consultancy Manager, Membership Promotions.
" It was inspiring to meet other really successful teams from around the country and to hear their stories. We have some wonderful colleagues across the National Trust. Their enthusiasm was infectious and made us feel like we'd like to be even more successful next year."
