Celebrating our volunteers at Blickling Estate

Volunteers enjoying afternoon tea in the orangery

We're honoured to have over 500 volunteers around the Blickling Estate, and to recognise their amazing commitment and invaluable support, a special awards ceremony is held each year. This year a spectacular 53 awards were given at the ceremony on 6 June.

The awards were given to volunteers who have supported the work at Blickling for anything from five to thirty years. Together they have amassed an astonishing 460 years in volunteering!

The volunteers were invited to an afternoon tea in the orangery where they were presented with their awards by General Manager, Helen Bailey.  They represented most areas of the estate, from the house, volunteer programming, gardens and parkland to catering, the bookshop and the stamp shop. There was even an award for a musician.

" It was a really enjoyable afternoon. The tea was very good and it was really lovely to be recognised for five years of service."

We are always looking for new volunteers of any age and ability to join us to help us ensure our visitors have a great day out at Blickling.  If you'd like to find out more about volunteering, please get in touch.
