Winston Churchill's garden

Winston Churchill's home Chartwell, Kent, viewed from across the lawn

With its stunning views over the Kent countryside, Chartwell was the much loved Churchill family home and place from which Sir Winston drew inspiration from 1924 until the end of his life.

The hillside gardens reflect his love of nature and landscape. They include the lakes he created and the Marycot, a playhouse designed for his youngest daughter Mary. The Rose Garden was built for Lady Churchill as a token of love.
