Butterfly adventures at Blickling Estate

Peacock and tortoiseshell butterflies on thistles at Charlecote Park

Fancy exploring further afield? Join us any day of the week for an adventure around the wider estate and help us to look after natural habitats for future generations…

Moths and butterflies, known as lepidoptera, are important indicators for how well we are looking after natural habitats, as well as the effect of climate change on the wider environment. Therefore, we’re inviting budding nature explorers to help us with our annual butterfly survey. It’s free and fun - simply collect a sheet from visitor reception and head out into beautiful surroundings.

We couldn’t do it without you

It’s survey season and the countryside team are busy recording birds, insects and other species in the park. As a conservation charity, we rely on the support from our volunteers, members and visitors to look after this special place for future generations to enjoy. Every cup of tea, slice of cake, garden stroll and gift bought, all play an important part in looking after Blickling Estate for ever, for everyone.
