Get a deeper insight into Blickling Estate and its fascinating history by joining one of our guided tours.

From history and conservation to landscaping and gardening, find the best tour to suit you.  Just speak to the team at visitor reception upon arrival.  Please be aware that tours are on a first come, first serve basis, so we would advise you to book your place early. All tours are free with admission and bookable on the day.

Garden tour | Daily | 11.30am & 1.30pm

Find out more about Blickling's gardens and the history of its creation. Tours are available everyday* throughout 2018, but please check with visitor reception for more information upon arrival. 

Enjoy being guided around the walled garden to see what new developments have been made. You might even get a taste of some of our wonderful, seasonal prodcuce.

Don't forget, you can ask our knowledgable garden team all year round for green-fingered tips for your own garden.

*our garden tours are led by knowledgeable and experienced volunteers and are scheduled to take place twice daily. However please bear in mind that availability may vary throughout the year due to unexpected absence.

Norah Lindsay's tour | Selected Thursdays | 1.30pm

22 March, 19 April, 17 May, 14 June, 12 July, 9 August, 6 September, 11 October

Norah Lindsay (1873 – 1948) was one of the early twentieth century’s most sought-after garden designers. Enjoy discovering her additions to the gardens that still remain today and learn more about the history of Blickling's impressive landscaping. Perfect for garden lovers.

Behind the scenes

Conservation tour | Tuesdays* | 1pm

Led by the house team, this tour will give you a unique insight in to how the house is maintained and protected, whilst ensuring it looks its best for visitors. The team will talk about current conservation projects and delve deeper into their daily clean.

*please ask at visitor reception for availability upon arrival. Places are on a first come first served basis. These tours are not available between May - October 2018.

Attic tours | Thursdays* | 11.30am & 1pm

Follow our expert guides up into the mysterious attics and uncover intriguing stories about past inhabitants and some unusual possessions. This tour really is a great way to learn something new about Blickling's history. Unfortunately, the nature of this tour involves ascending steep steps, so is not recommended for the less able-bodied.

Mr Dunning's recruitment tour | Thursdays during school holidays* | 2pm

Perfect for children. Join Mr Dunning the Butler and Kath the Scullery Maid on a tour of the attics, pantry and kitchen.  Find out what your duties will be, where you’ll live and how much you’ll get paid.  Are you up to the challenge?

*Tours avaiable in February half term and Easter holidays 2018. Early booking on the day is essential as places are limited.
