World Book Day at Blickling Estate
This spring there's all the more reason to be excited for World Book Day, as we embark upon an ambitious conservation project to save Blickling's eighteenth century Long Gallery library...
Join in the fun
From Thursday 7 - Sunday 10 March 2019, we welcome our visitors to come dressed as their favourite literary characters and spend their £1 book tokens on a range of titles that we have to offer. Exciting authors for this year include Lauren Child, Patrice Lawrence, Rick Riordan and Malorie Blackman.
Join us for World Book Day storytelling sessions on Saturday 9 and Sunday 10 March, where we'll be reading a selection of this year’s titles. Places are limited and available from visitor reception on a first-come-first-served basis.
Please note: normal admission applies.
" Sharing stories is fundamental to who we are. It is how we make sense of the world and understand ourselves. A book can satisfy our curiosity, give us comfort or hope, escape and joy."
Ten Little Bookworms
Collect a trail sheet from visitor reception and enjoy exploring the house and its collections, including Blickling’s impressive Long Gallery library. Can you find all ten bookworms hiding around the different rooms?
The Tiger Who Came to Tea
If you didn’t get chance to see The Tiger Who Came to Tea anniversary exhibition, why not try our tiger-themed trail in the garden? Simply pick up a children's map at visitor reception to help your explorers find their way around.
Find a hidden treasure in our extensive second-hand bookshop and lose yourself in a good read. Open every day of the week, our bookshop is the largest of its kind in the National Trust. All funds raised go towards vital conservation projects across the estate.
