Garden Cottage pop up café

A view of the Chartwell Kitchen Garden from the plateau beside the Garden Cottage. In the foreground is a cream tea served on a picnic bench

Tucked out of the way but worth a visit for the views alone is the Garden Cottage. Now open on a trial period over the summer, make your way up a short uneven slope to the Garden Cottage, get some refreshments to go and enjoy some views that haven't before been seen by the public.

Open weekends in September, weather permitting.

Serving hot and cold drinks, cream teas and ice creams in takeaway crockery, on a trial period we are opening the Garden Cottage for quick and easy refreshments close to the house and garden.

From the house, walk towards the croquet lawn and toilets. Just passed the pet graves, turn right up a slope to make it to Garden Cottage.

This garden plateau gives you unrivalled views of the Walled Garden and beyond.

From here you can always pick up some quick refreshments to enjoy on your walk of the garden and grounds. With outdoor seating available it's the ideal place to take five minutes and watch the world go by. More importantly it means if you're not quite finished with your visit it means you don't have to take the walk back to the car park to get yourself a drink.

Open on a trial period only and serving drinks, creams teas and ice creams, if you are after something more filling or prefer substantial crockery please do make your way back to the car park for the Landemare Café.
