Join our experienced guides on a tour of the house or gardens and let them bring history alive for your group. Our private group tours run for 15 people or more and need to be booked in advance - more details can be found below.

Please note that our tours involve steps and/or slopes and are not recommend for wheelchair users.

Chartwell private house tour

This guided tour will take you around the principal rooms of the Churchill's family home and describes the most notable contents and anecdotal information. It gives visitors a unique insight into the Churchill family’s use of the house and their private style of living.

  • £7.50 per person, excluding admission
  • Available Mondays at 10:30am* (not available in Jan, Feb, Jul, Aug, Nov & Dec)
  • Min 15 - max 45 people

*Our guided house tour starts at 10:30am to allow the group entry before the house opens to the public. Due to the confined space in the house we're unable to offer guided house tours during our usual opening hours.

Churchill's garden tour

A tour of the gardens to include Sir Winston Churchill’s studio, the Golden Rose Avenue, the wall built by Sir Winston, the lakes and the water features.

  • £5.00 per person, excluding admission
  • Available at a day and time to suit you
  • Min 15 - max 60 people
  • With prior arrangement the tour can be given in French
