A History of Winston Churchill in 50 Objects

Gain a unique insight into the extraordinary life of Sir Winston Churchill. Our exhibition presents a collection of Churchill’s own cherished possessions, many of which have not been displayed before, collected by him over the course of his lifetime.

Churchill's studio at Chartwell 

Churchill was an avid amateur painter, painting over 500 canvasses in total, many right here at Chartwell in his studio. Located down in the orchard amongst the apple trees, see the largest single collection of his works hanging from the walls as well as a brand new interactive 'touch-wall'.

Escape from the hustle and bustle this winter - wrap up warm and get exploring on a walk around the estate at Chartwell. You could even make a whole day of it by walking to our neighbouring National Trust properties, Emmetts Garden and Toys Hill, or stop by the café for a warming drink and hot food on your return.
