Visiting Ickworth: What you need to know
Tips for making the most out of your day at Ickworth.
We're looking forward to welcoming you back. Please book your tickets online before you visit. Members can book for free, while non-members will need to pay when booking. Where space is available on weekdays, pre-booking may not always be necessary, however if you do not book we cannot guarantee admission. Pre-booking is essential for weekends, bank holidays and in school holidays.
Parking and when you arrive
When you arrive at the Welcome Kiosk you will be asked to wait until a member of staff is free, please stay in your car and unwind your window. Our staff will then ask to see your tickets, take your last name to tick you off their list and ask to see any relevant membership cards. They will let you know what is open that day and where to park. Once you have arrived you are able to enjoy your day and stay until 5pm when the estate closes.
To keep visitors and staff safe we have implemented a one way system around our toilet block, Plant Centre and Welcome hub, please look out for the additional signage and hygiene stations. You may be asked to vacate an area if it is becoming too crowded, or wait in a queue for the plant centre if needed. It does tend to be busiest around this area near the car park so if you'd prefer to avoid then head straight past Porters Lodge.
If you are planning on walking / cycling around the River Linnet or Monument Trail we advise you to go one-way around, across the zebra crossing in the car park and past the overflow car park. For any further help, just speak to a member of the team on arrival.
To help keep everyone safe, please follow social distancing and government guidance when you visit. And look out for signs while you’re here which will explain any changes to how you can access different parts of the site.
If you’re showing any of the symptoms of coronavirus, or if you've been in contact with anyone that has the virus in the last 14 days, please don’t visit.
When you visit we have our car park toilets open, as well as our Welcome Point and Plant Centre where you can get information, maps and extra tickets.
Our West Wing is open from 10am-4pm, with our West Wing Cafe and Gift shop. Visitors will need to follow a one-way system into the building, there may be queues as there are limited tables in the Cafe and if the building is at capacity you may be asked to come back at a different time in the day.
Unfortunately we cannot open our children's playarea and House as yet.
We do not have our volunteer-run Buggy running, however you can pre-book one of our two mobility scooters on a first-come first-served basis. Please call the team before your visit on 01284736140
How to book
All visitors must book a ticket in advance, including members. Entry and parking is free for members, but please bring your membership card with you. Non-members will need to pay in advance.
- Please book one ticket per person, except for children aged 5 or under as they don’t need a ticket.
- You’ll need to choose a 30-minute arrival time for the day you want to visit.
- The timeslot is for your arrival time only
- Tickets are for your use only and are not available for resale
- We'll send your booking confirmation by email. Please make sure you fill in your correct email address when you book to ensure you receive your confirmation email.
Every Friday we'll release new bookings for visits the following week. You can book up to 18 hours before a timeslot.
Due to limited spaces, we’re asking that you only book once a week to allow others a chance to visit.
