Step back in time at one of the places we care for and experience a historic Christmas. Travel back to an Edwardian or Victorian Christmas or see how families celebrated the festive season throughout the mid-to-late 20th century. See festive trees adorned with twinkling lights, traditional wreaths brightening up fireplaces or neon-coloured fairy lights to bring some modern character to Christmas.

When you experience a historic Christmas at a place we look after, you’ll be thrown right back to the festivities of the time. You can see houses decked out in historical decorations, from spectacular wreaths, to fireplaces decorated with a Georgian twist, to magnificent trees ready to be admired. There are loads of historic Christmas events going on at many of our places, from stately carriage rides to festive banquets from different eras.

London and the South East 

There are some wonderful stately homes decorated for Christmas in London and the South East. Travel back in time to a Victorian Christmas where many of our modern English traditions began. Journey through the classic tale of A Christmas Carol and see houses decorated for Christmas – Queen Victoria would be proud of them. Or step into Christmas in the Churchill family home and join in with the festivities.
