Petworth's Non Alcoholic Mulled Wine

This non alcooholic version is perfect for everybody, even children can enjoy it. It's aromatic, infused with spices and a perfect remedy for a sore throat.

Enjoy a cup of mulled wine as you stroll through the grounds at Fountains Abbey this Christmas
  • Preparation time 10 minutes (prep. time)
  • Cooking time 30 minutes (cooking time)
  • Serves 8


  • 600ml Cranberry Juice
  • 250ml Apple Juice
  • 150ml Orange Juice
  • 2 Tbs Honey
  • Oranges (sliced)

Mulling Spices:

  • 2 Cinnamon (sticks)
  • 2 Star Anise
  • 10 Cloves
  • 2 Bay leaves
  • 30g Ginger (dried)
  • 1/2 teaspoon Orange (peel zested)
  • Pinch of Nutmeg
  • 5 pods Cardamom


  1. In a pot add the honey and orange juice. Boil till the consistency turns thicker and becomes syrupy.
  2. Add mulling spices and all the other juices. Bring to a boil and simmer for five minutes. Turn off the flame and let it rest for 2 hours to allow the spices to infuse.
  3. Strain the spice mix, reserving cinnamon dtickets, orange slices and star anise for garnishing into the glasses. Ladle them into the glasses and add the garnish before serving.
